Painting is an "evil" that I need to do to get figures on the table

Tell us a little about yourself, who are you, what do you do, and what interests you about mini painting?

"I am a wargamer. Painting is an "evil" that I need to do to get figures on the table, however I find it therapeutic as long as I am not working under a deadline! I suspect I will do more painting when I retire from full-time work."

How did you end up on the Fediverse/Mastodon/Pixelfed?

"I am a great believer in open source, I used to work for Red Hat. I came to Mastodon as a refugee from Twitter but it suits my mindset and beliefs."

How long have you been in the mini painting hobby?

"I've been wargaming since I was 7 years old but I did not start painting until I was around 12 years old. That was a long time ago."

What mini(s)/ model(s) are you using for your current project?

"I am painting resin busts of Alexander the Great to turn them into trophies for a competition I am running in the next couple of weeks."

What are the most important paints that you are using for your current project?

"Metallic acrylics - Gold, Silver and Bronze!"

What do you like most about them?

[They are] ..."Cheap and cover well, they are System 3 Acrylics."

What are you learning while you paint the model?

"Refining my drybrushing technique."

Have any cool events coming up that you would like to share?

"I am running a DBA competition in a couple of weeks with the theme of The Mediterranean before 0AD!"
